The deal, in plain language.

These terms are the agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“TrialCanary”, “we”, “us”), of [REGISTERED POSTAL ADDRESS], covering the TrialCanary iOS app, the TrialCanary website, and the canary email address issued to you.

By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

Our handling of your data is governed by the privacy policy, which forms part of this agreement.

You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, and at least [MINIMUM AGE] years old. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your sign-in secure.

TrialCanary issues you a receive-only email alias, keeps the mail sent to it in an in-app inbox, reads receipts to work out when you will next be charged, and notifies you before that happens.

• The alias receives only. It cannot send mail, and it never forwards mail you receive to any other address.
• We have no connection to any bank, card or balance, and no access to your real mailbox.
• Notifications are sent three days before a charge, the day before, and on the morning of, at 9 a.m. in your time zone.

Your canary address is for your own signups. Do not use the service to receive mail on another person’s behalf, to evade a ban or a paywall you agreed to, to commit fraud, to abuse a provider’s free-trial terms at scale, or to break the law.

We may suspend or close an account that does any of these. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you the chance to export your mail first.

What each tier gets

• Free. No canary address is issued. You can add up to three subscriptions by hand. There is no automatic detection and there are no notifications. Because no address is ever issued, nothing of yours is ever sitting behind the paywall.
• Pro. A canary address, unlimited tracking, and the countdown notifications before every charge.

Price

$34.99 per year, or $4.99 per month. The same prices apply on the web and in the app.

$34.99 is charged once, today, and again on the same date each year until you cancel. Cancel any time — you keep the rest of the year you paid for.

The free trial

A new subscriber gets 7 days free. The trial starts the moment you claim your canary address — that is the explicit “start my trial” step, and nothing starts it silently.

We will notify you the day before your own TrialCanary trial converts, with the exact amount and date. An app that warns you about other companies’ conversions has no business quietly converting you.

Payment, renewal and refunds

Purchases made in the iOS app are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you cancel or manage them in your App Store settings — we cannot cancel an Apple subscription for you. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under their policy.

This is written out because it is the part people get burned by elsewhere.

• Detections and notifications stop. Notifications already scheduled for detections created while you were subscribed are still delivered.
• You drop back to the free rules: manual entries, capped at three. It is not a lockout.
• Your canary address keeps receiving mail for 30 more days, so you have time to move any logins off it. We email you the date it stops.
• Reading and exporting the mail already in your inbox stays free forever. No lapse, and no future change to our pricing, will ever put your existing mail behind a payment.

The mail sent to your canary address and everything you add by hand is yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to receive, store, display, parse and export it on your instruction. We claim no other rights in it, and we do not sell it or use it to train AI models.

Mail is kept 90 days by default and you can export or delete it at any time. You can delete your entire account from inside the app; the deletion is immediate and removes your sign-in identity along with your data.

We work hard to catch every charge, and we will not pretend to a certainty the world does not allow. A provider can change the wording of a receipt, send no receipt at all, charge early, or mail an address you never gave us. Push notifications can be delayed or dropped by the network or the operating system.

TrialCanary is a warning system, not a guarantee, and not a substitute for checking your own statements. We are not responsible for a charge you were not warned about, and we cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf.

The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

We may change the service or these terms. For a material change we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that is acceptance. A price change never applies to a term you have already paid for.

You can stop at any time by cancelling in your App Store settings and deleting your account in the app. We may end the agreement if you break these terms, or if we retire the service entirely — in which case we will give you notice and time to export everything.

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE / COUNTRY OF GOVERNING LAW], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and nothing here removes a consumer protection you have where you live.
